Forensic examination and toxicology tests expected to determine cause of death.
A police officer was found dead late Monday, Aug. 10, inside a service vehicle with civilian license plates at the intersection of Pikrodafnis Street and Vouliagmenis Avenue in Agios Dimitrios.
According to police sources, the officer served with the Athens Patrol Subdivision and had been reported missing by relatives since Sunday morning.
A preliminary examination by a forensic doctor found no obvious signs indicating criminal activity. The exact cause of death is expected to be determined through a forensic autopsy and toxicology tests.
The Public Security Department is investigating the case.
