The lawyer was discovered late at night after his relatives became concerned when they were unable to contact him throughout the day. His two 16-year-old daughters went to the building, and after they rang the doorbells because they did not have keys, the building manager opened the apartment.

A shocking scene was then discovered. Georgiou was found dead on the floor of the bedroom, lying in a fetal position and covered in blood. His daughters were immediately taken away from the scene, and police units were called to the apartment.

Initial investigations indicate that the murder likely took place in the morning hours. Police found no signs of theft at the scene, while investigators noted that the victim’s trousers and shirt had been neatly placed on chairs.

According to forensic findings, the attacker did not use a weapon. Georgiou is believed to have died from severe head injuries caused by repeated blows from punches, kicks and impacts against a hard surface.

Authorities are investigating whether the lawyer was targeted because of his professional activities, as Georgiou had represented clients in several high-profile cases throughout his career. Police have also stated that some evidence at the scene could point toward a personal or sexually motivated crime, while emphasizing that no possibility has been ruled out.

The Homicide Division has launched a full investigation, examining the victim’s personal circle and reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area. The investigation remains ongoing.
