Military developing new conscription app

The Defense Ministry is developing a new mobile app to streamline communication with conscripts and reservists.
Expected to launch by 2025, the app will allow users to access all military documents and receive notifications about their obligations directly on their smartphones, tablets and other devices.
The digitalization aims to modernize the current analog system, which is plagued by inefficiencies making contact with reservists difficult.
As a result, the percentage of reservists who respond to their units’ invitations for enlistment is disappointing, while those who fail to appear are declared insubordinate and face criminal sanctions and a fine of one thousand euros.
The app will follow a similar model to Israel’s digital reserve system, making it easier for citizens to stay connected with military authorities.
