Markopoulos appointed New Democracy Parliamentary Spokesperson
Prime Minister and New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has appointed Dimitris Markopoulos as the new parliamentary spokesperson for the party’s parliamentary group.
Markopoulos replaces Makarios Lazaridis, while a third spokesperson position remains vacant pending developments in the case involving Notis Mitarachi. Dimitris Kairidis continues to serve in the same role.
In a social media statement, Markopoulos said he assumes his duties with “full awareness of the responsibility,” aiming to represent the party’s positions in Parliament with consistency and accountability.
He added that his goal is to ensure a “stable, credible, and unified parliamentary presence” that contributes meaningfully to dialogue and legislative work, while thanking Mitsotakis for his trust.
