Market Pass: applications start - what will apply

On Friday 15 September, citizens can submit applications either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr or through the K.E.P. until Tuesday 31 October 2023 to receive financial support for the months of August, September and October 2023.

Beneficiaries who have already received the financial assistance in the previous months do not need to reapply, unless they wish to modify the way the assistance is granted or if the IBAN number of their bank account of choice has changed in relation to the first payment. The deadline is 25 September 2023.

How payments will be made
- By 29 September 2023:

for applications submitted on or before 25 September 2023
for those who have already received the aid in the previous period and are newly eligible. The beneficiaries' tax returns must be cleared by 25 September 2023.
- Until 5 November 2023

for applications submitted after 25 September and by 31 October 2023 for those whose tax returns are cleared after 25 September.
Please note that due to the processing of data by banks, it is possible that beneficiaries may see the amounts in their accounts 1-2 days later than the above mentioned dates.

Income and asset criteria
Beneficiaries of the Market Pass are all Greek tax residents who have submitted a tax return for 2022 on time and whose total annual income does not exceed:

Sixteen thousand (16,000) euros for an unmarried obligor or an obligor in a widowed or separated status,
twenty-four thousand (24,000) euros for a married taxpayer or married persons or parties to a civil partnership who submit a separate tax return without children, plus five thousand (5,000) euros for each dependent child, other dependent member and guest member of the household,
twenty-four thousand (24,000) euros for a single-parent family, plus five thousand (5,000) euros for each dependent child, other dependent member and guest member after the first.
In addition, the total value of the immovable property must not exceed the amount of two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000) euros for unmarried persons, persons subject to a widowhood or separation order and the amount of four hundred thousand (400,000) euros for married persons or parties to a civil partnership and single-parent families.

Beneficiaries can choose how they will receive the financial support of the Market Pass:
Either by issuing an intangible digital card, which they will store on their smart phone and which they will show when shopping,
or by direct payment of the subsidy amount to a bank account that they will declare. In this case, beneficiaries will receive 80% of the amount due to them.
The amounts of the financial assistance
The aid is set at 10% of the monthly amount of purchases up to €1,000, starting at €22 per month for single-member households and increasing by €10 for each additional household member. The above limit of purchases does not apply to beneficiaries with more than six (6) dependent children.
