SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance deputy Theodora Tzakri submitted the candidacy of Stefanos Kasselakis for the leadership of the main opposition party at the central committee on Saturday, triggering tension in the meeting.

Earlier actor and former Stylida mayor Apostolos Gletsos filed a leadership candidacy after he gathered 32 signatures of support, exceeding the minimum requirement of 30.
Nikos Farantouris also filed his candidacy for main opposition leadership. "With a sense of responsibility and respect for the collective decisions," he stated.
