Investigation launched against the rapist officer
According to kathimerini, a 53-year-old police officer who was arrested on Friday by the force’s internal affairs division for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl was suspended and an administrative investigation was launched against him.
According to the police, a criminal complaint was filed by the teen and her parents, according to which the officer, taking advantage of his side job as a volleyball coach in an island club, drove the teen to an isolated location and raped her. He also used a profile he created in a social media platform to lure her into watching pornography.
The 14-year-old was examined by a doctor while the preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had molested another minor.
As part of the investigation, officers seized mobile phones, computers, video cameras, a tablet and digital storage devices from the suspect’s home.
