The case was solved following an investigation by the Alexandria Police Department’s Crimes Division, which filed charges against a 57-year-old Greek woman.

According to police, on the afternoon of August 7, 2025, a female accomplice of the 57-year-old called the elderly woman, pretending to be her daughter. She claimed to be in the hospital, after which another accomplice posing as her doctor demanded money and jewelry. A third accomplice pretended to be a police officer over the phone to further convince the victim to hand over all her valuables.

In this way, the suspects managed to obtain €12,700 in cash and jewelry valued at €10,000, according to the victim’s statement. The items were later collected by the 57-year-old suspect.

Police are continuing their investigation to identify the other accomplices and determine whether they were involved in similar crimes.

The case file will be submitted to the Veria Public Prosecutor’s Office.
