Heating aid applications open: Deadlines and key information
Applications for Greece’s heating aid program are underway, with citizens actively using the platform to submit their requests. The final deadline to apply is December 6, 2024, and the first payments to eligible recipients are expected by December 23, 2024.
Aid Amounts
The heating aid varies based on the type of energy used:
Electricity: €380 (increased by 20% this year, up to a maximum of €1,200)
Biomass (Pellets): €360
Thermal Energy (Heating Systems/Firewood): €350
Natural Gas: €325
Heating Oil, Blue Kerosene, or LPG: €300
Families receive an additional 20% per dependent child. In colder regions (e.g., Metsovo, Velouchi), the aid can increase by 25%, reaching up to €1,200.
How to Apply
Applicants must provide the following information:
Tax Identification Number (A.F.M.)
Full name
Number of dependent children
Indication if the application is for an apartment
Main residence’s electricity subscription number
Address and property ownership details (owned, rented, or free use)
Property’s total square meters
Preferred heating source
Contact details (email, phone number)
Key Points to Note
Electricity Aid: The subscription number must correspond to the main residence listed in the application. Mismatched numbers will result in rejection.
IBAN Validation: The IBAN number provided must belong to the applicant. Incorrect details will disqualify the application.
Other Fuel Types: Applicants using fuels other than electricity or heating oil must submit proof of purchase, including the invoice number, transaction amount, seller’s tax ID, and company name.
Applicants are advised to carefully check their details to avoid errors and ensure they meet the requirements before the deadline.
