Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou said that democracy should be protected daily, in a message on Sunday on the anniversary of the colonels' coup on April 21, 1967.
"Today's anniversary reminds us that the priceless good of democracy is not self evident. Democracy is claimed, won and safeguarded on a daily basis," she said, underlining that "every one of us has a duty, individually and collectively, to defend it continuously."
