Greek and Turkish coast guard delegations meet in Cesme
Greek-Turkish cooperation in the field of maritime security and the management of migration flows was discussed during a meeting between the Aegean regional commanders of the Greek and Turkish coast guards, which took place on Thursday, May 14, in Cesme, Türkiye.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Coast Guard, the cooperation covers both maritime operations and information sharing, in accordance with the joint decision reached in October 2025 on the island of Kos.
The intensification of this cooperation has already yielded significant results, leading to a reduction in migration flows from Türkiye and the dismantling of criminal networks involved in illegal migration, the same announcement states.
The two delegations also agreed to meet again in September in Mytilene.
