Greece's first "green" swimming pool opened in Xanthi
As a result of long efforts, Xanthi Municipality opened Greece's first "green" swimming pool with an opening ceremony.
Deputies, local administrators, and many sports fans attended the opening ceremony held within the framework of the 103rd-anniversary activities of Xanthi from the enemy occupation.
Xanthi Mayor Manolis Çepelis cut the opening ribbon with the students enrolled in the swimming pool. In his speech here, Tsepelis reminded that one of the goals he and his colleagues had set before coming to power was the reopening of the swimming pool. “We are happy to reach this goal we have set despite all the obstacles and difficulties.” he said.
Emphasizing that it is a "dream" to restart the swimming pool, which is a "first" in the country with its modern energy saving system, "Today, one of our dreams is coming true. We're a little late due to the pandemic. But today we are opening with our athletes, sponsors, and people. We are happy for this. I would like to thank everyone who contributed in this context.” he said.
Kiriakos Galanopoulos, President of the Greek Swimming Federation, also attended the opening.
