Greece experiences high temperatures before sharp drop starting Monday

According to the National Observatory of Athens, 82 meteorological stations recorded temperatures significantly higher than average for the season.

The highest temperature was registered in Livadia in central Greece, reaching 28.7C. On average, temperatures were 7.4C above the typical levels for this time of year.

Despite the unseasonably warm weather, experts predict a drastic shift by Tuesday, with temperatures expected to plummet. While the mild conditions will continue through Monday, the arrival of rain and even snow in the northern mountains will follow.

The weather forecast for Saturday predicts mostly sunny skies, although visibility will be reduced in some areas due to morning fog. The presence of African dust in the atmosphere will also be notable.

Temperatures will remain high, ranging from 7C to 27C in the north and from 15C to 29C in southern regions like Crete.

On Sunday, the weather will see some clouds and local showers, especially in the mountains of Epirus and Thessaly.

By Monday, rain will begin in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, with light snowfall in the northern highlands.
