The government is taking a significant step to support low-income pensioners! Starting from March 1, retirees with a gross monthly income not exceeding €634 will be eligible for free medication.
This benefit applies to former pensioners who were entitled to the Social Solidarity Benefit for Pensioners (ΕΚΑΣ) and new retirees receiving pensions due to old age, disability, or survivor benefits.
There is only one condition: As of December 2024, or at the time of their retirement, beneficiaries must meet the age and income criteria set in the last year ΕΚΑΣ was granted.
