Fatal motorcycle crash on Kavala Highway leaves Bulgarian rider dead
Initial reports indicate that the motorcycle rider, a Bulgarian national, lost control of the vehicle for reasons that remain under investigation before the motorcycle overturned on the roadway.
Authorities stated that following the crash, the rider collided with an oncoming passenger vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused fatal injuries, and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police and emergency medical teams were dispatched immediately after the incident, while traffic investigators launched a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Car Driver Taken Into Custody
Officials confirmed that the 32-year-old female driver of the passenger car was taken into custody as part of the standard judicial procedure followed in fatal traffic accidents in Greece.
The investigation is being conducted by the Kavala Traffic Police Department, which is examining all possible causes of the crash, including how the motorcycle lost control and the sequence of events leading to the collision.
The accident has once again raised concerns over road safety on major highways connecting northern Greek regions, particularly routes with heavy seasonal traffic.
