Criticism from PASOK and KKE to the government's cabinet change
Opposition parties PASOK and KKE criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' cabinet reshuffle. Both parties made a written statement on the issue.
PASOK: Gov't, failing to guarantee citizen safety, recycles officers in mini-reshuffle
The government of New Democracy "failed miserably to guarantee citizens' safety in a series of events," PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) party said on Wednesday, following a mini-reshuffle by the government.
"It took six months for [Prime Minister Kyriakos] Mitsotakis to admit it," the party added, accusing the government of introducing reforms that favor party interests instead of citizens.
The prime minister, it said, "went ahead with yet another reshuffle in terms of recycling, admitting the lack of officers and the defeat of the so-called executive state, which remains one of the largest [cabinets] in numbers."
Changes in cabinet expediting antipopular reforms, Communist Party charges
The only goal served by the so-called 'corrective' changes in the cabinet is "the acceleration of the so-called reform agenda of the New Democracy government, which for the labor and working class majority means new burdens," the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) said on Wednesday.
This is proven, the party said, "by the return of ministers to familiar positions in which they shone for their antipopular work, and now they return with the purpose of expediting it."
