Controlled parking: Fine increased under new legislation

The Municipality of İskeçe has informed citizens that, under the provisions of the new Road Traffic Code (KOK), the fine for violations related to controlled parking has increased from €10 to €30.

According to Article 7, paragraph 11, point (c), in conjunction with Article 108, paragraph 5, point (aa) of Law 5209/2025 (Government Gazettes 2327/2025 and 2382/2025), violations classified as category E1A (sign R-69 – controlled parking) are now subject to an administrative fine of €30.

The municipality clarified that this change stems exclusively from new national legislation and is not a decision taken at the local level. The Municipality of İskeçe is legally obliged to implement the measure, as provided for by the current institutional framework.

The new regulation replaces previous provisions of Article 4, paragraphs 3 and 11 of Law 2696/1999, as well as Article 28, paragraph 5 of Law 4530/2018, under which the R-69 controlled parking sign provided for a different fine amount.

Municipal authorities urged drivers to exercise caution when parking in controlled parking zones and to comply with the Road Traffic Code, contributing to smoother traffic flow in the city center.

Residents and visitors wishing to use controlled parking spaces can purchase parking time through the following options:

via the “ParkALot” application, available on:

  • Google Play Store for Android devices
  • Apple App Store for iPhone devices
  • through Scan & Pay using QR codes displayed on information boards in controlled parking zones
  • by purchasing parking tickets at designated sales points (partner shops near parking locations), as listed on the information boards
