Bank of Greece: Rodopi ranks lowest in Bank deposits in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace

The Bank of Greece's official data on the geographic distribution of bank deposits across the country reveals significant disparities.
As of June 2024, the wealthiest depositors are in the Attica region, with total deposits amounting to €106.243 billion across 14,706,370 accounts. Specifically, Athens leads with €87.014 billion (11,242,008 accounts), followed by Piraeus with €9.144 billion (1,742,276 accounts).
In contrast, Western suburbs recorded the lowest deposits in Attica at €2.210 billion (505,034 accounts), while Eastern Attica saw deposits of €7.875 billion (1,217,052 accounts).
In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, total deposits amounted to €6.317 billion across 1,684,901 accounts. Kavala led the region with €1.732 billion (437,048 accounts), followed by Evros with €1.686 billion (413,264 accounts). Xanthi and Rodopi followed, with deposits of €962 million (289,728 accounts) and €883 million (262,636 accounts), respectively, placing Rodopi at the lowest rank in the region.
