New increase in construction materials prices
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), prices of construction materials rose by 5.6% in August.
It was stated that construction materials increased by 0.5 per cent in August 2024 (compared to 2023).
According to the information published by the Greek Statistical Institute ELSTAT, as of August 2024, bricks (12.4%), electricity (9.7%), copper pipes (8.9%), radiators (8.4%), plastic pipes (8.4%), plastic, synthetic, fibre cement pipes (7.7%), safety glass (6.9%), Electricity distribution panels (6.9%), Switches (6.8%), General floor and wall tiles (6.3%), Solar panels (6.2%), Aluminium frames (5.7%), Cement (5.6%), Parquet (5%), mortar and ready-mixed concrete admixtures (4.8%), marble tiles (4.7%), plastics, acrylic, water (4.7%), rebar (4.3%) and ready-mixed concrete (4.1%).
In contrast to the increase in construction materials, diesel prices decreased by 7.9%.
