In his statement, Theodorikakos described Interplast as a model example of the government’s vision for the productive transformation of the Greek economy, emphasizing the company’s innovation, export orientation, and creation of high-quality jobs for 135 employees in Gümülcine (Komotini).

“This company reflects our government’s philosophy of productive transformation — combining innovation, extroversion, exports, and quality employment. It also attracts new scientific talent to Gümülcine (Komotini), which is particularly important,” the minister said.

Theodorikakos underlined that the Ministry of Development and the Mitsotakis government actively support modern Greek industry through the new Development Law, which includes special schemes for manufacturing and border regions.

He noted that seven companies operating within the Gümülcine (Komotini) Industrial Park have already been incorporated into the Development Law. “I hope that, following the ongoing evaluations, even more companies will join,” he added.

The Gümülcine (Komotini Industrial Park is the second largest in Greece after Sindos, covering 4,350 acres and hosting 45 active businesses.

“The future looks even more promising,” Theodorikakos concluded, “as we continue to strengthen productivity and competitiveness in Greek industry and the national economy as a whole.”
