Italgas to invest 1 bln euros in Greece by 2030, according to new strategic plan
The 1 billion, raised by 100 million euros compared to the previous plan, will be allocated to expanding the distribution network for natural gas, digitizing the distribution of networks, and penetrating regions not served yet. It also includes the distribution of renewable gases.
As announced, the investments will allow the expansion of the Greek network from 7,924 km in 2023 to over 11,000 km by the end of the plan (an increase of nearly 40%), and the increase in number of consumers served from the current 600,000 to nearly 1 million by 2030.
The strategic plan was presented to analysts and investors by Italgas CEO Paolo Gallo. The plan includes a total of 15.6 billion euros in investments (an increase of 7.5 billion euros or +92% compared to the previous plan), and aim at the purchse of 2i Rete Gas, interventions for the development of natural gas distribution in Italy and Greece, the boosting of its presence in the waters sector, and the enhancing of its energy efficiency.
