The global growth rate of cold coffee, led by the famous ‘freddo,’ invented in Greece in the early 1990s, is estimated at 22.1% in 2024 compared to 2023, while the overall coffee market grew by 5.4%.
It is estimated that one in three cups of coffee consumed outside the home in 2023 was cold coffee. ‘Freddo,’ made with iced espresso or cappuccino, is an evolution of the even more famous ‘frappe,’ using instant coffee, which dates back to the 1950s.
