American Airlines to launch direct Athens–Dallas route in May 2026
The new route comes alongside the return of existing flights linking Athens with Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Charlotte — the latter having been launched for the first time in 2025.
“Passenger demand for destinations with rich cultural heritage continues to grow,” said José A. Freig, American Airlines Vice President for International and Inflight Dining Operations. “With this route, travelers from Athens will gain access to our largest U.S. hub in Dallas/Fort Worth, offering connections to more than 225 destinations across the United States and beyond.”
Athens International Airport also welcomed the announcement. “The connection with Dallas/Fort Worth, American Airlines’ largest hub, is another important step in strengthening the Greek capital’s links with the U.S. market,” said Ioanna Papadopoulou, the airport’s Director of Communications and Marketing.
The new Athens–Dallas route will operate seasonally, offering more options for both leisure and business travelers seeking transatlantic connections.
