“Türkan Bebek” and other martyrs to be commemorated in Bulgaria
Martyr “Türkan Bebek”, the symbol of the Turkish struggle 38 years ago against the assimilation policies of the totalitarian regime and name change in Bulgaria, will be commemorated.
A commemoration event will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022, due to the 38th anniversary of the totalitarian regime's assimilation policy and forced name change attempt in Bulgaria.
Martyr “Türkan Bebek” Commemoration Event will be organized by the Rights and Freedoms Movement Party Kırcaali Provincial Organization and Kırkova (Kızılağaç) District Organization on Monday morning at 10:00 in the village of Mogilabe (Yurtçular).
As part of the commemoration event, speeches will be made next to the Turkish fountain in Yurtçular village. In addition, Mevlid-i Sharif will be read and prayers will be held in Yurtçular Mosque for the little Türkan Bebek and other martyrs who were martyred in the struggle of Bulgarian Turks against the totalitarian regime's assimilation policies and the attempt to change their name 38 years ago.
