Economic cooperation message from Rhodope and Smolyan local authorities
Deputy Regional Governor of Rhodope, Emmanuil Tapacas, hosted Smolyan Deputy Governors Andriyan Petrov and Krasimir Daskalov in his office on Friday, November 29, 2024. The meeting focused on exploring cooperation opportunities between the two regions.
Although the meeting was framed as a courtesy visit ahead of a scheduled meeting next month between Regional Governor Hristodulos Topsidis and Smolyan Governor Zahari Siranov in Bulgaria, cross-border cooperation topics were also discussed.
Key areas of focus included tourism, culture, disaster management, and cross-border relations. Both parties emphasized the potential for collaboration to be realized through joint projects and programs.
Deputy Regional Governor Tapacas highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation for enhancing economic development and improving the quality of life in both regions. He expressed his gratitude to the Smolyan delegation for their visit and productive dialogue, underlining the mutual benefits such partnerships bring to local communities.
The Smolyan Deputy Governors thanked Tapacas and conveyed Governor Siranov’s enthusiasm for revitalizing and expanding collaboration with the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region.
