TIKA Vice President Dr. Mahmut Çevik visited Moldova yesterday. Examining TIKA activities in the region and making official contacts, Dr. Çevik, in his speech here, mentioned the importance of Turkish culture. Çevik participated in the Cartoon Promotion Ceremonies performed in Gagauz Turkish.

Turkish Cooperation Coordination Agency (TIKA) continues its educational, cultural, and social activities in many different countries of the world. TIKA Vice President Dr. Mahmut Çevik had official contacts in Moldova yesterday.
Mahmut Çevik first met with Türkiye's Ambassador to Moldova, Uygar Mustafa Sertel.

DR. MAHMUT ÇEVİK HOLDS CONTACTS IN MOLDOVA
Cevik, who made a courtesy visit here, opened the Chisinau Creativ Youth Center and General Directorate of Security Multi-Purpose Training and Meeting Halls with Ambassador Sertel, Chisinau Metropolitan Mayor Ion Cheban and Moldovan Police Chief Viorel Cernautianu.

Çevik met with Fiodor Gagauz, President of the Moldova-Türkiye Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Larisa Novac, Member of the Moldovan Parliament, at the Theoretical High School Innovation Class established by TIKA.

"EMOTIONS AND THOUGHTS IN TURKISH CULTURE ARE REFLECTED ON RUG MOTIFS"
Continuing his official visits in Moldova with "Chisinau Art and Kilim Road", Çevik told Mayor Ion Cheban, "Turkish people in Turkish culture reflect their own feelings and thoughts on the rug motifs they produce, and in this rugged road project, 'The same is true in Rumelia and Eastern Europe. You want to say, 'We are the patterns of the rug,' and with this TIKA project, you announce to the world that 150 million people, including the multi-ethnic population, have lived together for years in peace.”

CARTOON VOICED IN GAGAUZ TURKISH
Çevik, who also visited Gagauzia, first paid a courtesy visit to Türkiye's Consul General to Gagauzia Hasan Akdoğan. After examining TIKA's activities in Gagauzia, Çevik attended the Cartoon Promotion Ceremony. Türkiye's Ambassador to Moldova Uygar Mustafa Sertel, Gagauzia Autonomous Region President Irina Vlah and local mayors, deputies and hundreds of children attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, with the support of TİKA, 23 cartoons, which were performed in Gagauz Turkish, were introduced.

ÇEVİK CALLED TO GAGAUZ TURKISH CHILDREN
Addressing the Gagauz Turkish children at the ceremony, Dr. Çevik said, “Your elders, who borrow your future from you, act with a serious sense of responsibility. You, who will be prepared for the future by preserving your language, identity, and culture, will also protect and develop your consciousness of being beneficial to the society and state you live in because; you will be the great thinkers, artists, scientists, and leaders of tomorrow. For this reason, we are compelled to seriously realize that nothing done for you is an empty and futile effort. You children, who have received a good education, are prepared for the future with the necessary equipment, whose world of thought and emotion are clear, and whose conscience is developed, are the guarantee of all humanity.
