TİKA President Eren: “We will live forever with our name, faith, and language”
In a statement shared on his official social media account, Eren emphasized that Türkiye continues to stand by its kin communities in their just cause, stating: “We once again reaffirm that we are always alongside our compatriots in their rightful struggle.”
Marking January 29 as the National Resistance Day of the Turks of Western Thrace, Eren shared his message under the title “We Will Live Forever with Our Name, Faith, and Language.”
In his message, Eren stated:
“On the occasion of January 29, the National Resistance Day of the Turks of Western Thrace, we reaffirm that we will always stand by our compatriots in their struggle for identity and in their just causes. On this meaningful day, we commemorate with respect and mercy all our compatriots who paid a price for this cause, especially the late Dr. Sadık Ahmet.”
The message highlighted the enduring commitment to identity, faith, language, and collective memory, underlining the symbolic and historical importance of January 29 for the Turkish community in Western Thrace.
