In cooperation with the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and Maltepe University, the "International Young Writers Academy Certificate Program", which included 65 young writers from different countries of the world, was held in Istanbul.

65 young writers from Greece, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan participated in the "International Young Writers Academy Certificate Program" held between 18-25 August.

At the certificate ceremony held in a hotel in Istanbul, AK Party Eskişehir Deputy Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı, YTB President Abdullah Eren and Maltepe University Rector Dr. Edibe Sözen gave a speech.

Avcı stated that he was very happy to meet young writers from the Balkans, Europe and Azerbaijan and emphasized that this was a very important message.

Avcı thanked the young people from all over the world who participated in the writing academy.

Avcı said, "The common love and passion of all of us is Turkish language. But first let me say this. Every language is beautiful. Whether it is the language of a tribe of five hundred people or an imperial language spoken by millions of people. Every language is one of Allah's miracles, one of his verses. "Language is also a worldview. We express how we see the world and how we want to show it with our languages. Of course, every language is beautiful. But everyone's mother tongue is beautiful to themselves. Our Turkish is also beautiful to us." used the phrases.

During the writing academy, workshops and seminars on poetry, essays and translation were organized for young writers. Young people came together with experts and masters of the subject.

"LET'S KEEP THE RELATIONS OF THE EUROPEAN TURKS WITH TÜRKİYE"

YTB President Abdullah Eren stated that their main aim is to reach a large number of Turks living in Europe and emphasized that they are also trying to ensure that people living in these countries do not break their relations with Türkiye.

Explaining that many people from Turkey went to European countries like Germany 60 years ago as workers and made great sacrifices, Eren said:

"Approximately 5 million Turks live in Europe, including 3.5 million in Germany.
How can we preserve it now?
We are working on it. Our elders who went 60 years ago worked in factories and mines.  However, later generations follow the relations with Türkiye through the country of vacation or popular culture.

How will we strengthen the ties of European Turks with Türkiye?

When our networks with our brothers and sisters living in Europe slow down, what kind of a European Turkish identity will we create on an intellectual basis so that we can preserve their relations with Türkiye?

This is one of our important goals. Literature is a very important tool at this point. This is why our writing academy work takes on an important function."

Stating that they carried out two of the writing academy studies in Strasbourg, one online, one in the Balkans, and the fourth in Istanbul, Eren thanked Maltepe University for supporting these studies.

Maltepe University Rector Dr. Edibe Sözen also stated that the one-week program ended successfully and efficiently, and noted that the students who received the certificate would apply the experiences they gained in their future lives.
