Very high risk of fire in two Greek regions today

Very high fire risk (category 4) is expected on Monday (16,06,2025) for areas of Crete and northern Aegean.
Very high fire risk (category 4) is expected on Monday (16,06,2025) for areas of Crete and northern Aegean according to the Fire Risk Forecast Map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection.
Specifically, a very high fire risk is forecasted for the following areas:
North Aegean Region (Samos and Ikaria islands)
Crete (regional units of Lassithi and Iraklio)
The General Secretariat of Civil Protection (Climate Crisis & Civil Protection Ministry), which issues the Fire Risk Map, has also notified all related authorities in the above regions and municipalities, to remain on alert for possible fires.
Citizens noticing fires should call the Fire Department at 199, it said.
