Israel has violated the ceasefire in Gaza 1,520 times since it came into effect 115 days ago, resulting in the deaths of 556 Palestinians, most of them civilians, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.

In a statement, the office said the Israeli army carried out systematic violations of international humanitarian law, including 522 incidents of gunfire, 704 bombardments, 73 military incursions into civilian areas and the demolition of 221 homes and buildings. Among those killed were women, children and the elderly, accounting for 228 of the deaths. Around 1,500 Palestinians were injured, while 50 others were detained during the ceasefire period.

The statement also said Israel allowed only 29,603 out of 69,000 aid, commercial and fuel trucks to enter Gaza, meaning less than half of the required humanitarian assistance reached the enclave.

Gaza authorities called on ceasefire mediators, guarantor countries, the United Nations and the international community to pressure Israel to protect civilians, uphold its commitments and allow the entry of humanitarian aid, fuel and medical supplies.
