According to the news on the Politico website, the EU Commission, which operates as the executive body of the Union, banned the use of the social media application TikTok for its employees due to security concerns.

In this context, all Commission employees were instructed to remove the application from their personal or corporate devices with any work-related application installed in the morning.

Other EU institutions, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament, are expected to take similar steps in the near future.

TikTok, owned by the Chinese technology firm, causes national security concerns in some countries.

In the USA, the use of TikTok was prohibited on devices used for official service.
