Coca-Cola cancels event outside Panathenaic Stadium following minister’s inspection
Coca-Cola Hellenic announced the cancellation of its planned event outside the Panathenaic Stadium (also known as the Kallimarmaro) following an order from Culture Minister Lina Mendoni for the immediate suspension of construction after her on-site inspection.
The company confirmed that it had obtained all necessary permits and that the temporary structure at the heart of the controversy fully adhered to the approved architectural specifications.
“Throughout the construction process, all required procedures were followed, strictly adhering to the architectural plans and studies as submitted and approved,” the company stated.
However, it added that after “considering the public debate and reactions,” it made the decision to cancel the event.
The structure was intended to host the Coca-Cola Leadership Conference 2025, organized by Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, on April 2.
