263 Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza war

The number of Palestinian journalists killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of Israel’s war in October 2023 has risen to 263, the media office said Wednesday.

The latest death was reported after al-Najjar was killed in an Israeli drone strike, according to the office.

The media office condemned what it described as the targeting and systematic killing of Palestinian journalists and media workers in Gaza.

It called on international and press organizations, including the Federation of Journalists and the Federation of Arab Journalists, to condemn the killings and urged the international community to pursue those responsible through international courts.

The office said more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 175,000 injured in Gaza since Oct. 8, 2023, citing Palestinian figures. It also said about 90% of the territory’s infrastructure has been destroyed.

Israel has continued military operations despite a ceasefire that, according to the report, has been in effect since Oct. 10, 2025.
