Zeybek seeks permission for minority public school teachers in religious holidays
As the MP notes, "The Administration, respecting the right of teachers from the minority to celebrate their religious holidays, grants regular leave to teachers for the regions of Thrace. However, a similar instruction is not given for the neighbouring prefectures of Eastern Macedonia, nor for the rest of the country.
The issue also remains open for minority substitute teachers serving in public schools. As the Xanthi Teachers' Association points out, "obtaining a regular permit to celebrate the holidays of the Muslim religion is tantamount to losing money for the substitute teachers."
Mr. Zeybek asks the Minister:
- Does it intend to extend the directive on obtaining regular leave of minority public school teachers during the celebration of Muslim holidays throughout the country?
- Does it intend to remove the adverse effects of obtaining regular leave from minority teachers to celebrate Muslim holidays?
