Western Thrace Fenerbahçe Association issues a statement

Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association, which will continue its activities after the finalisation of the closure case, made a statement about the decision and what will be done from now on.

The management of the Western Thrace Fenerbahçe Association stated that they are pleased that the closure case filed against the association was concluded in favour of the association after the Prosecutor of Rodopi withdrew the objection application and thanked the members and politicians who did not withhold their support during the lawsuit process and stated the following.

STATEMENT 

Dear Members and Kinsmen

On 16 February 2023, the Prosecutor's Office of Rhodope initiated a closure proceeding against our Association (essentially an appeal against the decision to register its establishment) and on 14 June 2023, during a hearing before the Single Judge Civil Court of First Instance of Rhodope, the same judicial authority withdrew its appeal, thus ending our journey before justice.

From the very first moment, we have argued before every competent authority that the appeal was unnecessary and wrong in accordance with national and international legislation, and we believe that we have been proved right.

However, it is obvious that the legal result obtained did not satisfy the political and non-political people and masses, who are known in our region and whose attitude towards our Association is very controversial.

Against all kinds of manipulative and provocative understanding, the behaviour of the Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association has been and will continue to be constant until today.

Despite possible provocations, we want everyone to know that we will not deviate from the path of right, law and common sense and that we will remain true to our founding principles and objectives.

Nevertheless, we would like to declare that we, as Fenerbahce fans from Western Thrace, reserve our right of defence against any threats, lies and slander against us by resorting to all legal and democratic methods available today and in the future.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to all our members, compatriots, cognate organisations and legal advisors who have supported us in this process and who have undertaken our defence before justice.

Our message to all those who are concerned about the existence of Fenerbahce from Western Thrace is as follows: Let's work together for the promotion of friendship, peace, culture and sports in our region!
