ABTTF brings Western Thrace Fenerbahçe Supporters Association Case to the Council of Europe
The Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) has submitted the case concerning the Western Thrace Fenerbahçe Supporters Association to the Council of Europe, arguing that the rejection of the association's registration constitutes a violation of the right to freedom of association.
ABTTF informed the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers about the Greek authorities' decision concerning the association, stating that the case reflects the continuing restrictions faced by civil society organizations representing the Turkish Muslim Minority of Western Thrace.
The federation emphasized that Greece has yet to fully implement relevant judgments of the European Court of Human Rights concerning freedom of association and minority organizations.
ABTTF called on the Council of Europe to continue monitoring Greece's implementation of the Court's rulings and to ensure that freedom of association is fully respected in line with European human rights standards.
