Waiting for the start of TEBA distribution in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
The contract for the implementation of the Food Aid Program (TEBA) in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) has been sent for inspection. However, procedural issues appear to have delayed the finalization of the contract and the commencement of distributions.
For nearly a decade, food and products have been provided through the TEBA program under the European program to support the most vulnerable members of society who qualify for the program. Until recently, the distribution was handled by the municipalities. However, the responsibility for the procurement and distribution of the products, which occur at regular intervals to meet various needs, has now been transferred to the AMTH Region.
The procedures for the tender process, through which a contractor was selected, have been completed. According to Mr. Vasilis Mavridis, the Special Advisor to the Governor of AMTH and the official responsible for TEBA, the implementation is expected to move forward shortly after the necessary checks by the competent authorities. Although the original goal was to start distribution before Christmas, this was not achieved. The new target is to begin distribution by Easter.
