TOÇEK receives standing ovation at International Theatre Festival in Konya
The TOÇEK Theatre Group earned widespread acclaim for its performance of “Rumuz Goncagül” at the 18th “One Thousand Breaths, One Voice” International Festival of Turkish-Speaking Theatre Companies held in Konya, Türkiye.
Organized by the Turkish State Theatres and the Konya State Theatre Directorate between June 2 and June 10, the festival brings together theatre groups from across the Turkish-speaking world, fostering cultural exchange and artistic collaboration.
Representing Western Thrace, TOÇEK took to the stage on June 7 at the Sultan Veled Hall of the Mevlana Cultural Center, where it presented “Rumuz Goncagül” to an enthusiastic audience.
Directed by Şükran Raif, the production attracted significant interest from local theatre-goers. The cast’s strong stage performances and interpretation of the play were met with prolonged applause, with audience members offering a standing ovation at the conclusion of the show.
The international festival continues to serve as an important platform for artists from different countries to share their work and strengthen cultural ties through theatre.
