TİKA Vice President Mahmut Çevik holds official meetings in Komotini

Vice President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Mahmut Çevik, continued his official tour of Western Thrace with a series of meetings in Komotini (Gümülcine) on Thursday, June 19.
As part of his visit, Çevik first met with Turkish Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, at the Consulate. The Consulate shared a message via social media stating:
“We were pleased to host Mr. Mahmut Çevik, Vice President of our Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, at our Consulate during his regional visit. We thank him for his kind visit.”
Following his stop at the Consulate, Çevik met with the Mufti of Komotini, İbrahim Şerif, and then visited the Komotini Turkish Youth Union (GTGB), where he held talks with GTGB President Sedat Hasan.
Throughout his visit to Komotini, TİKA Vice President Çevik was accompanied by Consul General Aykut Ünal, emphasizing Turkey’s diplomatic and institutional presence in the region.
These visits underline TİKA’s continued interest in the well-being and development of the Western Thrace Turkish minority and reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural and organizational ties with the local community.
