In a statement released on the cooperative's social media account, they noted:
"Dear producers, each product is unique in its characteristics, and damage assessment varies for each one. Therefore, we advise patience and caution. We have taken all necessary steps and will continue to do so to ensure that any losses you incur will be compensated."
The cooperative's statement reads as follows:
"Dear tobacco producers,
This year, we are expecting losses in tobacco production due to the extreme heat and drought conditions in our region.
Our agricultural engineers have identified signs of drying in the tobacco crops. As the cooperative management, we have sent a letter on June 28, 2024, to ELGA and DAOK, requesting an immediate damage assessment due to the drought in our region.
Dear producers, each product is unique, and damage assessment varies. Therefore, we urge you to be patient and avoid rushing the process. Rest assured, we have made and will continue to make every effort to ensure that your losses are compensated.
Please be assured that damages will be addressed.
