The SNF informs the residents of Komotini about the construction of the New Hospital
On the occasion of the start of the construction works of the new Komotini General Hospital, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation invites the public to a meeting with the participation of representatives of the SNF, the Ministry of Health, the study team and the construction contractor. The Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Marios Themistokleous, will participate in the discussion, while the President of the SNF, Mr. Andreas Drakopoulos, will address a greeting via live connection.
The open meeting regarding the new SNF Komotini General Hospital will take place at the REX Theater of Komotini on Wednesday 1 November 2023 at 18.00.
The event is open and free to all without pre-registration. The donations for the design, construction and equipment of the new state-of-the-art SNF General Hospital in Komotini, as well as the University Pediatric Hospital of Thessaloniki ISN and the new Sparta General Hospital SNF are part of the International Health Initiative (IHI) funded by entirely by the SNF, with a total budget exceeding $1 billion.
The ongoing International Health Initiative is the largest Initiative in SNF history. It includes, for example, the design, construction and equipment of three new public hospitals in Komotini, Thessaloniki and Sparta, the renovation and expansion of infrastructure in public hospitals in Athens, the supply of specialized medical equipment, new aircraft for the air transport of the National Emergency Center ( EKAB), educational programs for the further training of health professionals, the Initiative for the Mental Health of Children and Adolescents in Greece and collaborations with leading international organizations to strengthen public health around the world, including RockefellerUniversity, ColumbiaUniversity and the ChildMindInstitute in New York, the NationalChildren'sAlliance in the US, the SantJoandeDéuChildren'sHospital in Barcelona, the KingHusseinCancerFoundationandCenter in Jordan and the YorkshireCancerResearch in the UK.
