Technical meeting on geothermal infrastructure development in Topeiros Municipality
As part of its renewable energy strategy, the Municipality of Topeiros is taking steps to utilize the Mangana–Erasmio geothermal field to develop innovative energy solutions and boost the local economy.
On February 24, 2025, a technical meeting was held at the Topeiros Town Hall, where experts and officials discussed the potential applications, legal framework, and investment prospects for geothermal energy in the region.
Key Focus Areas of Geothermal Utilization:
- Agriculture (greenhouse farming, aquaculture)
- Heating of public and private infrastructure
- Job creation and economic growth
Mayor Michoglou's Statement:
"Our municipality has a unique natural advantage that we must harness. The development of the Mangana–Erasmio geothermal field is a priority for us. Working with relevant stakeholders, we aim to transform this natural wealth into a driver of local development by providing clean energy, supporting farmers, and creating new investment opportunities."
The meeting also covered funding opportunities and investment tools to support geothermal projects.
