"Student Bazaar" held at Celal Bayar Minority High School
The senior students of Gümülcine Celal Bayar Minority High School successfully organized the traditional "Student Bazaar", which drew significant attention this year. The event took place on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the school courtyard.
The bazaar was attended by prominent figures, including Türkiye's Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, and his wife, İlayda Ünal, along with deputy consuls, consulate staff, Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board President and Komotini Mufti İbrahim Şerif, DEB Party Chairperson Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat, and other local dignitaries such as municipal leaders, NGO representatives, parents, and community members from nearby villages and neighborhoods.
Visitors were warmly welcomed at the school entrance by students, Encümen Heyeti President Fuat Perende, school principal İsmail Yücel, and teachers.
Starting at 10:00 AM, the bazaar featured a variety of offerings prepared by the students, including sandwiches with meatballs, pastries, cookies, desserts, and coffee. Stalls also showcased clothing, jewelry, and decorative items for sale.
Proceeds from the event will support the senior students' overseas trip, continuing the tradition of enthusiastic community participation.
