Smoke from the fire in Greece has reportedly reached Italy's Sicily Island and Malta.
The Greek Meteorological Office shared a satellite image of the fires.
In the statement made regarding the image, "While dozens of fires in our country destroyed hundreds of thousands of acres of forests, agricultural land and settlements, the smoke covered a large part of the Eastern Mediterranean."
The statement pointed out that the fire, especially in Western Thrace, created a huge amount of particulate matter suspended in the air, and it was noted that these particulate matter reached as far as Southern Italy and Malta.
It was emphasised that the air pollution in Sicily and Malta was very high due to the density of PM10 and PM2.5 particulate matter.
