Report to Parliament on the claims of the Faculty of Engineering Faculty of Xanthi and the decision of the POSSDEP
The petition is based on the resolution of the Unified Faculty Association of the Faculty of Engineering of Xanthi and the relevant decision of the POSSDEP. The resolution notes that financial support is a prerequisite for the support of regional universities and their teaching staff. Particular reference is made to the increased need for travel for educational and research purposes and the importance of financial incentives for the retention and attraction of scientists to the institutions of the region.
The Association states that the frontier allowance is already paid to other categories of public sector employees and calls for its extension to faculty members serving in frontier regions. In addition, it stresses the need to strengthen the provision of accommodation and food for students.
The MP asked the competent ministers to inform him of the actions they intend to take regarding this request, stressing that this is an issue related to the operation and staffing of higher education institutions in the region.
