Regional Governor Topsidis announces new projects for Xanthi
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, Hristodulos Topsidis, the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, visited the Xanthi region and provided details on several upcoming projects.
Topsidis announced that two new roundabouts will be constructed in the areas of Bulustra (Avdira) and Büyük Osmanlı (Mangana), which have experienced many fatal accidents in recent years. He emphasized that these roundabouts are especially important in the summer months when traffic intensifies, and he believes they will significantly reduce traffic accidents, providing citizens with safer travel conditions.
Following this announcement, Topsidis visited the mountainous areas of Xanthi and inspected the construction of a new border crossing and roadworks near the village of Demircik, close to the Bulgarian border.
Lastly, Topsidis visited the Mustafçova Municipality, where he met with Mayor Ahmet Kurt to discuss local issues. He also announced that a new fire station would be established in the village of Şahin.
During his visit to Xanthi, Governor Topsidis was accompanied by Vice Governors Polikseni Brika and Irfan Hacıgene, as well as Regional Council Members Salih Yörük, Fatih İsmailko, İbrahim Amuçka, and Vaso Pavlakaki.
