The minister referred to the plan to return illegal immigrants, whose asylum applications have been rejected, to their countries of origin. "The impression was created that anyone who enters Greece stays. We prove in practice that this is not the case. Last year, 7,000 people returned to their countries, while from the beginning of 2025 another 500 have already been returned, with the process continuing," noted Panagiotopoulos.
