Mustafçova Mayor-elect Ahmet Kurt issues a thanking message

Ahmet Kurt, head of the "Great Unity Brotherhood Movement" list, who won the elections with 55.99 per cent of the votes in the second round, thanked the voters.

Making a post on his social media account, Kurt said, "Every single member of Mustafçova Municipality, every single voter deserves this thank you. I make this thank you by dedicating it to my whole nation."

Ahmet Kurt's message is as follows:

"Every individual, every voter of Mustafçova Municipality deserves this thank you. I dedicate this thank you to my whole nation.

On 6 October Friday evening, we said that we did not make a closing speech. Our nation will have seen and realised that we can take care of the trust that we said, shouted and wanted to protect during the rallies, and gave a tremendous and historical message on Sunday, 8 October. That historical message is in our ears. That message is the debt of our neck. And only and only our nation gives the message in these lands. We are obliged to receive messages. All services and projects will be a reflection of this historical message. We are joyful and proud. We are happy and proud not because the Great Unity Brotherhood Movement won, not because Ahmet Kurt became the mayor, but only because there will be no losers. Our happiness and peace will not be a happiness that will be achieved by provoking someone. As of today, we will start the campaign for the next elections. No more talking, telling projects, trying to convince people how we will serve. We will be silent, our services will speak for 5 years. We will be silent, our staff will talk about the projects that will not fit into the ground.

We will be silent, the blessings of our nation in service will speak.

Dear brothers and sisters
Although it may seem like an elected mayor, in fact the person elected by your will is a brother, a brother, a friend who has the authority to serve.

As of today, we have ended the campaign we carried out under the umbrella of the Great Unity Brotherhood Movement, and we have started the order that will establish services and unity under the roof of Mustafçova Municipality.

This is not the period of power of the Great Unity Brotherhood Movement.

It is not an era of power in which Ahmet Kurt will satisfy his ego.

This is your era of power.

This is the transfer of power of our nation.

We will be together more from now on. We will devote all our time to our nation. And we have hundreds of issues to talk about. We had a tiring and fiery campaign period. Everything was very good, everything was just right for us. As a matter of fact, as we said, we will have a lot to talk about at the openings.

Finally, I would like to thank each and every member of Mustafçova Municipality for being a part of this democratic feast. I would like to thank all our villages from Şiroko to Demircik, each and every household of that village, the prosecutors, lawyers and observers who took part in the polling stations, each and every young person who supported us during the election campaign, each and every volunteer who took part in all the organisations, the security forces who provided good services with their measures to prevent possible minor incidents during the election campaign, I would like to thank each and every presidential candidate and volunteers of all movements who have contributed to such a good conduct of this election campaign, my precious wife and son who have always supported me, my dear mother-in-law and father-in-law who love their sons-in-law as their sons and do not withhold their support, my dear mother and my dear father who have raised me to this day with a thousand labour, longing and hardship. All of these thanks will be repaid with the service of this brother of yours. This success, each line of this struggle will be crowned with service.
