Mustafa Uzun elected as new president

The 19th Ordinary General Assembly of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (WTTSA) – Zeytinburnu Branch was held with strong participation at the association’s congress hall. During the assembly, Mustafa Uzun was elected as the new branch president, succeeding Fatih Hacıbedel, who had served three consecutive terms.

The general assembly brought together prominent figures from civil society and the Western Thrace community, including WTTSA Headquarters President Hasan Küçük, Secretary General Besim İsmail Başa, Women’s Branch President Nalan Hacıimam, BATÇEV President Hasan Şahin, Istanbul Western Thrace Turks Sports Club President Mehmet Gençoğlu, All Rumelian Turks Association President Şemsettin Loklar, and Zeytinburnu AK Party Municipal Council Member Hakan Güler, alongside former branch presidents, executives, and numerous members.

The assembly was chaired by Attorney Asım Güven as Divan President, with Mehmet Gençoğlu serving as Vice President and Besim İsmail Başa as Divan Secretary.

During the meeting, members were comprehensively informed about the association’s activities over the past three years. Following the approval and discharge of the audit report and financial statements, the election process took place.

Running as the sole candidate, Mustafa Uzun was elected President of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association – Zeytinburnu Branch through an open vote.

Outgoing President Fatih Hacıbedel stated that it had been a great honor and privilege to serve the Western Thrace cause for three terms. He expressed his gratitude to his fellow board members and all association members for their support throughout his tenure.

The newly formed executive board under President Mustafa Uzun consists of the following members:

In his inaugural remarks, President Mustafa Uzun thanked the members for their trust and emphasized that they will continue to work with determination to defend the rightful cause of the Western Thrace Turkish minority and further strengthen the activities of the Zeytinburnu Branch.
