Mufti Mete spoke to Millet: They should not believe in falsehoods and lies
Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete answered the questions of Millet newspaper about the yesterday’s case.
Mufti Mete, who answered the questions of the Millet Newspaper about the case, said that his message to the Turks of Western Thrace is; they should never believe the wrongs and lies.
The outcome of the lawsuit filed by the Elected Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete and the Imam of Gökçepınar Erkan Azizoğlu, on the grounds that they falsely witnessed and defamed them about what happened at the funeral of soldier Ahmet Katunlu in Gökçepınar, was announced on Wednesday, May 25.
Mahitis Newspaper owner Panos Papadopoulos, former ANEL party member Hrisi Utsi and former appointed Mufti of Xanthi Mehmet Emin Şinikoğlu were found guilty of "simple defamation".
After the trial, Stelyos Yalaoğlu, the lawyer of Hrisi Utsi, evaluated and commented the result of the case. Yalaoğlu speaking to Radio Xronos said that the defendants were found not guilty.
Mahitis newspaper, on the other hand, made some accusations about the Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete in its news about the case published on Tuesday 26th May.

MİLLET: Dear Mufti. Yesterday, the case filed by you and Gökçepınar Imam Erkan Azizoğlu at the Xanthi Court was discussed and decided. Can you evaluate the litigation process and its outcome?
METE: “The result was an operation to rescue those who insulted the minority.”
MİLLET: Yesterday, the court found three of the four people guilty. What does this mean for you?
METE: Now we are in a position to thank you. We say thank you because the Greek justice has never been able to keep the balance on behalf of the Minority.
MİLLET: The lawyer of one of the person you sued yesterday made a statement to a radio station about the court process. Again, there are serious accusations. He said the defendants were found not guilty. What would you like to say about this?
METE: The lawyer does this all the time without knowing me. I think I would recommend him to get to know me, not what he heard outside. I offer him a cup of coffee.

METE: I don't read the Mahitis newspaper. I don't take it seriously. Because everything he has written about me so far consists of lies and slander.

METE: May the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace continue to protect its sacred values, values and characteristics from now on, as it has done so far. Never believe in falsehoods and lies.
